Mammoth Cave National Park

My sister Kelly and I planned this trip, pre-cancer and pre-COVID .. and we finally took flight in April 2022! On a rainy day, we work up early in Nashville to adventure to Mammoth Cave National Park to tour the biggest cave system in the world. Kelly and I were hopeful we could get a tour, as most are booked in advance and we did not get that intel until a few days prior, so we were excited to score the walking tour tickets. We did the Discovery Self-Guided Tour and was explored in the caves 160 feet below ground.

And we always do our part … “White-nose Syndrome has been confirmed in Mammoth Cave. All participants on cave tours must walk on bio-security mats immediately following the conclusion of their tour. No exceptions. Your assistance is required to slow the spread of this fungal disease affecting bats.”
