Biscayne National Park

We’ll, I stand corrected. I thought I had been to Biscayne National Park back in my twenties … however, I was actually at Key Biscayne State Park. So today is my official Biscayne National Park. We visited via boat to Boca Chita Lighthouse with the Biscayne National Park Institute, which left out of the picturesque Deering Estate. We loved the boat ride to the key! We learned that a Key is made of organic materials and an island is made up from volcanic material. And we had so much fun exploring the park!

I got my Stamp a few days earlier at the Visitor Center in Homeland, FL.

Opps …

One stunning day, while visiting a boyfriend in Coconut Grove, Florida, I had the opportunity to boat around Biscayne National Park (it was actually Key Biscayne) in a Donzi Boat. All day we zipped around to hidden swimming holes and took in the sunning views.. We dove into the warm waters and soaked up the sun, time and time again.

As I was battling cancer, I thought of this day often. I dreamed I was back on the boat with the sun on my back getting ready to dive into the warm waters. That was a perfect day.

I don’t have any pictures from that day, which makes it even more magical, as it only lives in my memories. For a placeholder, I’m sharing this awesome poster by World Vibe Studio.

Miami in the distance.
