Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park

We were extra thrilled to adventure to Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park as we realized we were traveling on the Lincoln Highway, famous to us from Amor Tolles The Lincoln Highway book that we recently both read. Additionally we realized it was also the month of Abe’s birth, so the columns were decorated in historical traditional purple and black.

My favorite part of the park was learning there are 56 steps up to the memorial to to represent his 56 years. In the building, there are 16 windows, 16 panels and 16 posts in cabin room to represent him being the 16th president … very thoughtful nods indeed. I hope they have an amazing celebration on April 15th to celebrate him.
