Big Cypress National Preserve

Boardwalk at Nathaniel P. Reed Visitor Center

Bo grew up in Florida and had never heard of Big Cypress National Preserve. We started off at the Nathaniel P. Reed Visitor Center and got some great recommendations from a super friendly park ranger. First up was walking the boardwalk and I loved seeing the sky’s reflection on the water. Next I was off to H.P Williams Roadside Park to walk their boardwalk and I spotted a few alligators. At the Kirby Storter Roadside Park , I walked the one-mile boardwalk and saw turtles, birds and some baby alligators. And the best recommendation was our last adventure down the not too often travelled Loop Road, a “Journey 27 miles through dwarf cypress forest, pine forests, hardwood hammocks, and some of the most photographed landscape in the Preserve.” So much beauty to inhale!

Look closely for the baby alligators!

Look closely for the turtle on righthand side.

Our first sighting on Loop Road!

Big guy!!!
