Rosie the Riveter National Historic Park
On Mak’s way back up North from his Sophomore Year, I met up with him in Oakland and we started our adventure with a visit to Rosie the Riveter National Historical Park. We learned so much about the brave women that stepped up and forever changed history for the better. And I also got to walk amongst the building that was lead by one of my idols Betty Reid Soskin who just retired from the NPS at the age of 100. She believed in equality, service, and education.
“To be a part of helping to mark the place where that dramatic trajectory of my own life, combined with others of my generation, will influence the future by the footprints we've left behind has been incredible,” said Betty Reid Soskin.
And the views were stunning! I love this picture of Mak.
