Manhattan Project National Historical Park-Hanford Unit

Manhattan Project National Historical Park-Hanford Unit is closed this week due to COVID levels (Note to self: start calling in advance to the smaller parks to check if they are indeed open before arrival … as COVID is still surging in the USA!). “Safety First!” is one of my favorite mantras and I could not support them more in this effort! That all said, I took some snaps and we enjoyed our adventure.

A bonus on the way was stopping by to view the Ginkgo Petrified Forest State Park, famous for its rare specimens of petrified Ginkgo tree discovered there in 1932.

And special thanks to the NPS Rangers at Manhattan Project National Historical Park-Hanford Unit for sending me my official stamp … and also for the super cool 1/3 stamp that makes up the Manhattan Project circle stamp when combined with partner units in Los Alamos, NM and Oak Ridge, TN. So excited to get to those Units soon to complete my circle!
