Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area

There is so much to see in this beautiful country of ours. This mission to visit all 424+ Units of the NPS system gets me out an about as I heal in nature, and I am forever grateful to see the beauty of America. As an environmentalist, I am not a super fan of dams …. but love a lake! Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area is full of much beauty!

We love meeting friends along the way!

This southern stretch of the region is stunning starting with Northrup Canyon.

And I learned from a friend that I met along the way that Banks Lake is actually a reservoir developed to provide water for farms in the south.

“Banks Lake is a 27-mile long reservoir in central Washington in the United States. Part of the Columbia Basin Project, Banks Lake occupies the northern portion of the Grand Coulee, a formerly dry coulee near the Columbia River, formed by the Missoula Floods during the Pleistocene epoch.”

And we discovered Dry Falls State Park along the way, so I had to include it too!
