Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park-Seattle Unit
From Ebey’s Landing, we drove north on the island, over Deception Pass, and down to Seattle to tour the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park-Seattle Unit. We learned so much about the brave souls that struck out for gold in the PNW. I have to admit, I didn't know a thing about this historical event until I visited the museum. This reminder further solidified my mantra … Adventure and Advocate, Explore and Evolve. These pillars of thought lead the passion behind my journey of healing in nature. Not all of the NPS Units are parks in nature, many are historical places … that make you a better and more knowledgeable person.
And I spun the wheel and it said I found some gold!!!
Another big bonus for me was I scored my Minidoka Bainbridge Island Unit Stamp here too. I was chatting with the cashier in the bookstore, sharing details of our mini-adventure and she informs me I can go to the front desk to get my stamp. I was thrilled, to say the least! One of the mini-challenges of park chasing is mirroring my visits when the park visitor center is open. For Minidoka on Bainbriges Island, the NPS only has it staffed on the weekends. So I was so happy that the stars aligned for me in Seattle.
And very cool they promote these Units at the Seattle museum!
