Adams National Historical Park

I always love when I discover that I can pop into a park while en route to another destination. On our way from Boston to Hyannis to go to Nantucket, we stopped in Quincy to tour Adams National Historical Park. It is indeed a sweet little farm full of beautiful flowers, grounds, and trees … the big tree is a black walnut and was planted here around 1830!

“He plants trees for the benefit of later generations”: John Quincy Adams’s Motto

“From the sweet little farm at the foot of Penn’s Hill to the gentleman’s country estate at Peace field, Adams National Historical Park is the story of “heroes, statesman, philosophers … and learned women” whose ideas and actions helped to transform thirteen disparate colonies into one united nation.”

The black walnut tree!
