United Kingdom

I have been super fortunate to have visited London, England many times. My favorite visit was with Mak and Auntie Lola when we took Mak on his 5th Grade Graduation adventure. Lori and I planned each day before we departed and the flow was great from a Rock and Roll Tour to a Harry Potter Muggles Tour. Then to many museums, to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Play, and queuing up for Wimbledon … and enjoying many tasty snacks along the way! It was an awesome adventure indeed! And it really instilled a love of travel with Mak, which was the goal of the trip.

On our arrival day, we checked out our neighborhood Marylebone and loved our quaint neighborhood Hotel, the Nottingham Place Hotel.

Day #2 was our day on the Big Bus London to gave us our bearings of the city and see the sights!

Afternoon treats at the iconic Harrods is a must!

Day #3 was dedicated to exploring China Town, Covent Gardens and going on Auntie Lola’s handpicked Rock and Roll Tour!

Our Rock and Roll Tour took us to Abbey Road!

Pail McCartney’s House is in the background!

And refreshments for adults afterwards at a local pub!

On Day #4, we were off on our Muggles Tour! It started at the London Bridge and took us all over the city. So much fun for wizarding fans!

Afterwards, we took a tour around Trafalgar Square and then headed over to the theatre district to see a show!

On Day #5, we visited The British Museum to learn and admire. Then we jumped on a double decker bus for a tour of Alexandra Park & Palace and dinner at Banner’s for some Jamaica Jerk Chicken in Crunch End.

On Day #6, we put on our rain jackets and headed out for a day of adventure in the city. In our neighborhood, we encountered the Gap Pride Parade, which was a surprise hit! Then on Boris Bikes, we rode until we got drenched. And then spent the rest of the day exploring Hyde Park, Nob Hill, and discovering treasures at Portobello Road Market.

On Day #7, the sun came out again and it was off to the ZSL London Zoo!

On Day #8, and our last full day with Auntie Lola in London, we visited Royal Albert Hall and the National History Museum. We celebrated with an Indian feast at a neighborhood restaurant that Mak picked out for us. It was a wonderful adventure!

On Day #9, it was a dream come true for me going to Wimbledon! We got up super early and we queued for tickets … and upgraded to Court #2. Such an amazing experience!

And so fun to connect with the Curleighs in London!

And on Day #10, it was time to bid adieu to London!
