El Paso, Texas

On our final night of our epic 2023 Park Chaser Road Trip, we rolled into El Paso, Texas as the sun was setting. A friend recommended we stay at the Hotel Indigo downtown and eat at Mamacitas. For us it was a win win as they were both in the same building and we only needed to transport ourselves there with the elevator. Pretty nice after days and days of long drives!

Upon arrival to the Hotel Indigo, we checked in to our Tex-Mex chic room and we loved the whole boutique hotel with 1960’s-Era design vibe! This was my first time staying at an IHG property and I am excited to explore the hotel group offerings more in the future!

“At Hotel Indigo® El Paso Downtown, mid-century architecture meets contemporary design in the middle of a bustling West Texas metropolis formed on a lively blend of Mexican and American culture. The hotel mixes El Paso history — our building was once home to the 1960s-era Downtowner Motor Inn — with the spirit of today’s downtown. Wake up to locally grown and roasted coffee, brewed to perfection by our skilled baristas or grab a bite from our exquisite brunch menu that has been thoughtfully curated con mucho amor at Mamacitas. You can grab an award-winning craft cocktail from Circa 1963 while cooling off in our fifth-floor outdoor pool which features panoramic views of Downtown El Paso and our sister city, Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua. After you escape to the Franklin Mountains, Chihuahuan Desert and Rio Grande, explore relaxation in your luxurious guest room; unique décor, plush linens, spa-inspired showers and spacious work areas welcome you back. Downtown’s finest attractions are only steps away. Venture out to visit El Paso’s historic San Jacinto Plaza or spend the night out at Southwest University Park while cheering on The El Paso Chihuahuas or Locomotives. Choose to stay at Hotel Indigo® El Paso Downtown, where the possibilities are endless.”

Then we headed down the elevator to Mamacitias for dinner … and a few margaritias!

“An iconic landmark on the corner of Kansas and Main Street, in the heart of Downtown, El Paso. A few blocks from the International bridge which connects the United States and Mexico. We represent where we come from. Open daily, join us to connect to with your family or friends over organically sourced ingredients made with Love.”
