Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve

I watched a documentary about Greater Prairie-Chickens years ago and there is some concern over the Nature Conservatory’s joint effort to ensure the health of their populations. I hope that is no longer the case and I enjoyed the beauty of the area.

According to NPS “Greater Prairie-chickens live in remnant tallgrass prairieand are in decline because of habitat loss. They are famous for their unique mating dances and a booming call that is amplified by their inflatable neck sacs.”
