Gettysburg National Military Park
OMG … Gettysburg National Military Park has grown so much since I was here last in 1984! And so cool that I selected the same section to tour as I toured back then.
“Gettysburg National Cemetery is the final resting place for more than 3,500 Union soldiers killed in the Battle of Gettysburg, a Union victory often cited as a turning point in the Civil War. Numerous monuments stand in both the cemetery and battlefield to commemorate the Union and Confederate troops who fought there.”
On the ever so educational 8th Grade East Coast Trip, we visited Gettysburg National Military Park. We arrived to witness a reenactment of the final battles. It was intense indeed! And it kickstarted one of my life’s mission of being a pacifist, anti-gun and anti-war.
