Netherlands

I have long dreamed of visiting Amsterdam since my days at Wieden & Kennedy. While en route to Athens, Mak, Ryder and I stopped into the Netherlands for a few days of adventure … and we fell in love with the city! Our first stop was to our hotel, the Hotel Pulitzer. Then we walked the streets, dined in a grand cafe society restaurant, and toured some museums.

PDX today, Amsterdam tomorrow!

After touring the hotel, it was time to tour Amsterdam!

We loved our lunch at the famous Cafe Americain! “Café Américain is a classic grand café that dates back to 1902 and was a meeting place for art-loving Amsterdam in the 1950s and 1960s.

Today, Café Americain is an iconic place with a beautiful view over the Leidseplein. The famous Art Deco restaurant has classic allure according to the rules of the 21st century. High quality, accessible style and a lot of personality.

Typical Amsterdam products on an all-day menu are complemented by Dutch ingredients. A modern brasserie that writes new history with both 'class' and 'classics'. From early morning until late at night.”

We love walking the streets of Amsterdam!

We stumbled up a powerful exhibit “A Paper Monument for the Paperless is a monument in the making, which should generate more visibility and attention to undocumented refugees.”

We explored around the outside of the Moco Museum and have tickets later in the day.

Next we headed to the Rijksmuseum to see the works of the Danish greats.

And then back to the Moco to see the Pop Art.

Day #2: We woke up to anther beautiful day in Amsterdam! We headed out for our Jewish Quarter Tour and then to the Anne Frank house. After his vey educational and impactful experience. Next we hopped on a wine and cheese river cruise thought the canals of the Venice of the North. And a totally fun coincidences, we ran into some guys that also went to Mak’s high school . I love that traveling can bring people together randomly for a fun reason. Then we explored the Red light District as the sun set.

We had the best sandwich iever, a great recommendation by our tour guide.

Mak found the cafe from Atlanta, the TV show, when they filmed in Amsterdam.

Lincoln Cardinals Alex Paskill and Stuart Diffely.

We love this adorable narrow house!

Day #3: We adventured out of the city to see The Hague, The Mill Network at Kinderdijk-Elshout, and the super cute town of Delft.
