Costa Rica 2024

I finally made it to Nosara, Costa Rica to experience the magic of this unique surf town. All of my friends that have been rave about the sunsets, and they are spot on. This is one of the best sunset beaches I have ever experienced. And I love the party vibe each night on the beach where everyone comes out to watch the big orb in the sky cross the horizon.

We loved our house near Baker’s Beach and if you have a large group, I highly recommend renting Casa El Regreso. Trust me when I say the pictures do not do this house justice.

Day #1 on 1/1/24. After a smooth border crossing in Nicaragua, we headed to get our rental cars. We were finally enroute to Nosara! Our arrival coincided with Nosara’s famous sunset. We headed down the path at Baker’s Beach and soaked it all up. Bo’s sister, Lisa and her husband Rick arrived and we enjoyed our taco night with amazing local chefs that I had prearranged with our VRBO Host.

Day #2: The vibe in Nosara is so unique and chill. Howler Monkeys are in the trees and the sky is so blue. We all gathered at the Beach Dog Cafe for breakfast and it was so fun to catch up with my friends Jackie and Shannon, who both have houses here. The girls and I hung out at Jackie’s beautiful house by the pool in the afternoon and I went back to our house to swim all afternoon. Then we met up with the whole Nosara crew and enjoyed another epic sunset.

The morning was spent by the kids riding bikes and Bo and I took a big beach walk. Then we rallied for a big hike to the Mala Noche Waterfall that was quite the adventure (kudos to Bo for finding it on YouTube! There are so many reasons I love the internet). It was fun to push ourselves outside of our comfort zone and be adventurous. My brother Troy loves fun activities, so we were really happy this one delivered. In the afternoon, I toured Shannon’s new house and walked down the beach home. I started tracking my steps and did over 13k today! For dinner we trekked into town and navigated the intense car/ATV traffic to land at Olivia’s, which was delicious.

Day #4: Cynthia and I took Ella to the Bodhi Tree Yoga Resort to do yoga with Lisa in the morning. It is a stunning property and the views from the Oceanic Yoga Shala. Cynthia and I spent the morning swimming in the pool which was so invigorating. We gathered at the Beach Dog Cafe, our favorite spot, for a late breakfast. The kids went zip lining in the afternoon with Troy and Bo. Cynthia, Lisa, Austin and I went on an afternoon outing to go see the beach at Luna’s at the Noaara Beach Hotel and then to went shopping at the cute shops in town. The days pass easily in Nossara!

Day #5: Our big day of new adventures on ATVs! Cynthia discovered this awesome offering by Tico Tours Nosara. We lucked out that they had time and vehicles for all of us at the last minute. We loved every moment!

And our last official Nosara sunset!
