Tennessee

The first time I went to Nashville was to visit James when he attended Vanderbilt for his MBA. We painted the town each night and a favorite was when we went line-dancing at the WildHose Saloon (And on a Saturday night when they film it live … thank goodness James knew all the moves and I am a quick study)!

And my brother Scott married his second wife and mother of his children at Natchez Trace State Park and we stayed at their adorable lakeside cabins. And I learned about the invasive kudzu vine. Unfortunately, the beautiful memory of the park was stronger than the marriage, and now Scott is scheduled to marry his third wife this Fall.

It was so much fun going back this year with my sister and that trip inspired me to launch my Field Trips features where I share all of my favorite adventures that are not NPS Units. Enjoy my Field Trip: Nashville, Tennessee.
