New Mexico — Eco Akamai

In November 2023, JJ and I set out on a National Park Tour of Arizona and New Mexico. Our first stop was White Sands National Park and the white mountains of sand were otherworldly .

After touring the park, we spent the night at an awesome geo dome in Nogal< NM.

When my parents first bought a Pilatus in June 2009, we took to the skies and landed in Santa Fe, New Mexico. We planned the trip to have a fun reunion with some of their best friends, The Krosches and The Wessons. We dined a delicious restaurants and stayed at a wonderful hotel.

But one of the big memories was getting a private tour of Abiquiu, Georgia O’Keefe’s private residence. I was in AWE! She is my all time favorite artist. We also toured Ghost Ranch where she spent a tremendous amount of time painting.

And the second memory was when my sister and I were walking to dinner to meet our parents, we walked past the Lensic Theatre, where we disovered Carrie Fisher was performing Wishful Drinking … in another life, we would have ditched them for Carrie, if we would have only know that is the closest we would ever come to our great idol. In another life Carrie, we will drop it all to sit in the nosebleeds to laugh with you at this funny life.

And the third was getting Japanese massages at Ten Thousand Waves! My sister Kelly’s friends are in senior management of the spa, so we booked in and I cannot recommend it more!
