Silver Creek Falls State Park

When I was growing up in Salem, Silver Creek Falls State Park was just a short drive from our house. So when it was time to select a summer camp to attend, my siblings and I went to YMCA Camp Silver Creek every summer to do arts and crafts (I made countless gimp bracelets!), work on our archery skills, drink bug juice, sing countless bonfire songs, wake up early for road runners and polar bears in the icy cold lake, and much more. It was my love of this camp that inspired me to send my boys to YMCA camp and now they all are super fans of YMCA Camp Collins. Mak works there as a counselor, Ryder will be in the CIT (Counselor in Training) program next week. And Sam just attended his first Teen Camp and earned his silver rag.

So thank you to Silver Creek Falls State Park for being so beautiful and inviting!

And now the park is known as Silver Falls State Park, I don’t know why the Creek was dropped, but I have the post card to prove it.
