Field Trip: Warm Springs Reservation

For the first time in my life, we turned on Hwy 216 towards Maupin. We passed Bear Springs and drove through a classic beautiful green tree-filled forest … which turned out to be an error with the GPS! Only our second U-turn of the day after we forgot Ryder’s medication earlier this morning. We then cut over on Reservation Road on the Warm Springs Reservation, past wild turkeys, Land Back tags on settlers houses, horse crossing signs, and tee-pees … and waited for the horse to cross the road. The Warm Springs detour was a delight and the beauty was amazing!
