Field Trip: Boston, Massachusetts

We bookended in Boston while we were en route to Nantucket … and visited a few NPS units too along the way!

We started our adventure at the Ritz-Carlton by the Boston Commons, which hysterically we both thought we were staying at the St. Regis … which there is none in Boston. After dinner, we saw Jeffery Wright filming on the streets by our hotel. We walked right past him while he was getting a make-up touch up and then we watched them film his running scene. It was the first time James had seen a movie set, so that was a fun treat. And then when we landed back to our St. Regis, we sat next to Billy Crudup at the hotel bar. James offered him a taste of his soup and he declined with a smile.

And then we toured about!

The New England Holocaust Memorial was powerful.

From the South End to the North End.

Winthrop Square by Bunker Hill.

And then we walked past the stunning Massachusetts State House.

And we explored at the King’s Chapel Cemetery to find James’s relatives The Winthrops!

I had a super fun dinner at Spoke Wine Bar in Somerville with Jackie and it was beyond awesome to meet her kids and husband!

And when we came back after our Nantucket adventure, we stayed at the awesome Godfrey Hotel.

And I highly recommend Yvonne’s! We shared many small delicious plates paired with delicious drinks.
