Vermont

I had the opportunity to work for Burton Snowboards as a consultant for the better part of of year. Starting in the Fall of 2011, I would fly to Burlington “BVI” Vermont almost every other week. It was tough for the kids and Ryder starting having panic attacks on Mondays in first grade, so I eventually had to give up the gig to take care of my family. Which is a decision I will make time-and-time again. I always wanted to teach them the value of hard work, but not at taking away the value of being a present parent. This year taught me a lot about priorities and motherhood.

Due to the massive amounts of snow that fall from the Mid-West to the East Coast in the winter, my luggage was delayed a time or two. I purchased this Vermont Moose T-Shirt in the Hotel Gift Shop one morning and it became part of my uniform, along with gray and black striped sweaters.

And below is the art that was on one of the Burton Sales Representatives custom van. Burlington Shreds!

And I highly recommend attending the Stowe Foliage Arts Festival! I bought two Color Woodblock Prints, made by hand using the Japanese HANGA method, by Matt Brown. I still chrerish them today. I love buying a memory during my travels to decorate my home and I treasure these pieces.

“Fall is festival time in Vermont and Stowe celebrates foliage color with the Stowe Foliage Arts Festival. Celebrate Vermont’s most colorful season, while enjoying fine art and craftwork from 150 juried fine artists and artisans. Artisans will exhibit and sell a wide range of contemporary and traditional craft work as well as original art, photography, sculpture and specialty food products. There will be live music, good food, beer, wine and craft demonstrations. Sample specialty foods such as maple syrup, gourmet chocolate, craft spirits and more. Enjoy the foliage, while sampling all the area has to offer this fall at the Stowe Foliage Arts Festival.”
