Delaware

I finally have photographic proof that I’ve been to Delaware. On our great East Coast Road Trip in the Summer of 2023, Sam and I visited The First State National Historical Park. It was a quick trip, but always fun to adventure with Sam!

I have only missed the Fourth of July in Neskowin a couple of times in my life. The first time, and the most traumatic, was when I was living in DC. It was my first year being a professional Capital Hill staffer and I have the standard two weeks vacation. So my roommates and I got creative and headed to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

We started our adventure by going on a bar crawl, my first, and definitely not my last. This is a brilliant invention indeed! Then we took naps, as one does after a big day in a new shore town. The evening took us to the packed beach to watch all of the fireworks. It was fun, but not the same.

I have no photos of the events, but Mary Miller can vouch for me for sure. Thank you Delaware for filling my void!
